Concert Choir is our large mixed chorus. It is our primary choir that meets as a class for the duration of the school year. No audition or experience is required to register for this course - all are encouraged to join! Students in Concert Choir rehearse classical, pop, and folk choral repertoire, and they also learn to read music through sight-singing.

Morning Choir is open to all students, and can be joined as a class for credit (.5 credit for the year) or as an extra-curricular activity year-round. This choir rehearses before school, from 7:00 am to 7:26 am every morning. They sing a variety of musical genres, including pop, classical choral, and acapella music. They perform at Platt Music Department concerts as well as the Morning Concert Series. Students are encouraged to visit a rehearsal for more information any day - no preparation or experience necessary!

Con Alma means “With Soul” in Spanish, and speaks how our singers rehearse, perform, and connect every day. This group serves as our advanced choral ensemble, and singers of all grades are placed here by audition or teacher recommendation. Each member sings in either Concert Choir or Morning Choir in addition to Con Alma, supporting the musical growth of each ensemble. Con Alma’s repertoire includes classical and contemporary choral literature, acapella with body percussion, barbershop, musical theater, gospel styles, and multilingual music. This group performs at Platt Music Department Concerts, as well as events in the greater Meriden community.
